The part-time Lower School (K-4) Counselor will work as a member of a diverse school

at Contra Costa Jewish Day School (CCJDS) We are searching for a part-time Lower School
counselor who will assist teachers as they work to address the personal, social, emotional, and
academic development of individual students and the class. Employee will enjoy the support of a
Senior Administrative Team and the CCJDS School Counselor.
Responsibilities
● Support implementation of CCJDS’ K-4 social-emotional development curriculum, which
includes Kimochis and Toolbox as examples of the CCJDS approach. Help guide, facilitate and
differentiate social emotional development curriculum, per age or grade level as appropriate, for a
diverse group of students. For example, provide lessons on friendship/peer relations, social skills,
stress management and sensitive topics
● Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and outside professionals to establish
developmentally appropriate strategies for supporting students academically, emotionally,
socially, and behaviorally
● Participate in case management, assess therapeutic needs of individual students, consult with
and refer families to any necessary counseling. We do not expect ongoing individual therapy and
the expectations for case management are limited
● Intervene and provide crisis management on an as-needed basis throughout the school year,
including consultation, risk assessment, referral and follow-up
● Lead professional development programs for faculty in areas related to student
social-emotional development and safety, mental health, and other developmental issues
● Observe students in a variety of in-school settings to effectively collaborate with the Student
Support Teams, teachers, and families regarding student development and progress
● Interface as necessary with outside mental health resources as well as local and state agencies
responsible for providing services to children in need

SFUSD is seeking to identify a cadre of Literacy Coaches with deep content knowledge and a proven ability to positively support adult learners who will lead the district towards the development of a common vision for effective literacy instruction through providing teachers with direct instructional guidance and impactful professional development. Literacy Coaches will either be “site-based” or will work across multiple sites, supporting teachers in both informal and in more formalized coaching cycles around an identified aspect of instructional practice. Coaches will serve up to ten additional work days (compensated accordingly), to participate in coaching network meetings to develop protocols, professional learning modules, and role-alike training in preparation for the start of the school year.

Peninsula Bridge, an educational equity non-profit, is looking for inspiring educators to join our 4th-7th grade After School Academy, an academic and SEL enrichment program that meets September - May at sites across the peninsula. Our teacher positions are two days a week from 4:00 - 6:00pm with approximately 45 minutes of additional prep each week with an hourly rate of $75/hr. Instructional lead positions are 10 hours a week, two days a week from 3:15 - 6:15 on site and four hours of admin and meetings each week which can be done flexibly, with an hourly rate of $50/hr.
These positions are great for full-time educators, early service teachers, or semi-retired teachers who care about educational equity. We provide engaging lesson plans, activities and materials and have an incredible on-site admin staff at each site. Teaching with Peninsula Bridge is an amazing way to have a meaningful impact on the lives of under-represented and historically marginalized students and families on the peninsula.
