Elementary Content Specialist

Position Overview
We are looking to hire a few experienced elementary school teachers to lead small group instruction in Reading, Writing, Math, Critical Thinking & World Studies, or Observation (Art/Science). The particular content areas will be based on prior experience and interest. This teaching role will work with students in small groups (12-15 students) at one of a Kindergarten – 5th grade level. Red Bridge does not group students by grade level, but by Autonomy Level. Each Autonomy Level spans about three years of age difference. For academics, students are grouped based on skill level in the subject area rather than their Autonomy Level. The Elementary Teacher position would work with students in skill-based groups. The Elementary Teacher will be responsible for planning instruction, collaborating with the Red Bridge teaching team, observing and taking notes on students, regularly assessing student achievement and progress, and coordinating with teachers and parents as necessary to discuss student progress. This is a full-time position reporting to the Head of School. Applicants for this role should have deep experience in content area instruction at an elementary level and a passion for one or more of the subject areas above.

Responsibilities
● Support implementation of CCJDS’ K-4 social-emotional development curriculum, which
includes Kimochis and Toolbox as examples of the CCJDS approach. Help guide, facilitate and
differentiate social emotional development curriculum, per age or grade level as appropriate, for a
diverse group of students. For example, provide lessons on friendship/peer relations, social skills,
stress management and sensitive topics
● Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and outside professionals to establish
developmentally appropriate strategies for supporting students academically, emotionally,
socially, and behaviorally
● Participate in case management, assess therapeutic needs of individual students, consult with
and refer families to any necessary counseling. We do not expect ongoing individual therapy and
the expectations for case management are limited
● Intervene and provide crisis management on an as-needed basis throughout the school year,
including consultation, risk assessment, referral and follow-up
● Lead professional development programs for faculty in areas related to student
social-emotional development and safety, mental health, and other developmental issues
● Observe students in a variety of in-school settings to effectively collaborate with the Student
Support Teams, teachers, and families regarding student development and progress
● Interface as necessary with outside mental health resources as well as local and state agencies

Peninsula Bridge, an educational equity non-profit, is looking for inspiring educators to join our 4th-7th grade After School Academy, an academic and SEL enrichment program that meets September - May at sites across the peninsula. Our teacher positions are two days a week from 4:00 - 6:00pm with approximately 45 minutes of additional prep each week with an hourly rate of $75/hr. Instructional lead positions are 10 hours a week, two days a week from 3:15 - 6:15 on site and four hours of admin and meetings each week which can be done flexibly, with an hourly rate of $50/hr.
These positions are great for full-time educators, early service teachers, or semi-retired teachers who care about educational equity. We provide engaging lesson plans, activities and materials and have an incredible on-site admin staff at each site. Teaching with Peninsula Bridge is an amazing way to have a meaningful impact on the lives of under-represented and historically marginalized students and families on the peninsula.
