Lead Teacher: 1st and 2nd Grade

Work as part of the Rainbow Room 1st & 2nd Grade teaching team. Teacher will plan, develop and deliver 1st and 2nd grade multi-subject, progressive curriculum that reflects the curriculum and educational standards, using a variety of instructional methods. The applicant will also collaborate with their co-lead teacher in the Rainbow Room.
Teach 5 days a week.
100% FTE, Exempt
Location: on campus, in-person
Evaluate the academic and social growth of students.
Manage communication with parents including phone, email, meetings, assessment and reporting.
Practice the Synergy School agreement system and Synergy philosophy regarding growth and change.
Communicate with team and learning specialist regarding students with special learning needs. Modify and adapt curriculum.
Must be able to lift 25 lbs
Coordinate and manage field trips, including overnight outdoor education
Member of Educational Cooperative
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
Eligible to work in the US
Preferred skills:
Experience teaching elementary subjects, especially teaching reading
ability to develop and implement a project-based, anti-bias curriculum
commitment to progressive educational practices
Understanding developmental needs of 1st and 2nd grade students
Team teaching experience
Experience working with diverse learners
Willingness to fulfill co-op duties
Interest in being a part of K-8 community
Strong organizational and collaborative skills
Ability to integrate technology into the curriculum
Outdoor education experience
Teaching credential preferred
