Under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Family Educator plans and leads classroom activities for children and parent volunteers. Because of Family Connections' parent participation model, the Family Educator's classroom time is divided between leading activities with children and supporting parents in implementing activities created by the Family Educator. Nurturing Classes meet twice a week and serve children from birth to three years of age. Pre-kindergarten classes meet three times a week and serve children 3 through 5 years of age. Nurturing and Pre-kindergarten classes are offered in East Palo Alto and Redwood City. The Family Educator will provide support and assistance with various administrative, outreach, and program-related projects.
