Early Childhood Assistant Teacher

Overview of the Position
The assistant teacher’s duties will be split between assisting the Preschool and Pre-kindergarten classes. Responsibilities include:

Interacting with children in a learning environment
Supervising children
Weekly planning of hands-on activities and circle-time
Daily preparing and clean-up of activities and snack
Assisting with toileting
Working cooperatively with staff and parents
Able to lift 40lbs

Full-time position, hours of work maybe flexible

Qualifications
Candidates must be fluent in progressive educational theory and practices, be culturally competent, and have previous classroom teaching/assisting experience. Candidates must have valid qualifications for working with preschool students, which include 12 core semester units (Child/Human Growth and Development, Child, Family and Community and Program/Curriculum). AA or BA preferred. Candidates must meet State Licensing requirements which include Live Scan Fingerprinting, current TB clearance, immunizations, health report, Adult and Child CPR and First Aid training. We are seeking candidates who are reliable, adaptable and have a nurturing and supportive tone with students.
