Associate Teacher: Autonomy Level 2 (2nd/3rd Grade)

Position Overview

The Associate Teacher position is a supporting role for the Autonomy Level 2 Learning Guide. Red Bridge does not group students by grade level but byAutonomy Level. Each Autonomy Level spans about two to three years of age difference. Autonomy Level 2 generally includes students between seven and nine years old. As an Associate Teacher, you will work closely with the AL2 Learning Guide and other Red Bridge teachers. Responsibilities include supervision of students, planning and leading small group instruction in content areas, individual tutoring, behavior support, and substitute teaching as required from time to time. Responsibilities also include parent communication, student record-keeping and assessment, observational note-taking, maintaining an orderly environment, and preparing materials for learning. This is a full-time position reporting to the Head of School and working in close collaboration with the AL2 Learning Guide. This position is ideally suited for someone early in their education career who is excited to learn from and with master teachers and to be part of an innovative school model.
